Slam Dunk Grey Cup bets: championship calibre

Forget the Blue Bombers playoff run, our betting picks have been championship level.

Winnipeg has won us a lot of money during the post-season and an upset-laden course to the Grey Cup. The Bombers were money line darlings in beating Calgary and Saskatchewan while multiplying betting funds.

The line for Hamilton versus Winnipeg opened with the Ticats as one-point favourites. Heavy money on the black and gold has pushed the price to three and a hook. That’s a large difference from the initial number sent out by various sports books.

Grey Cup
Hamilton Tiger-Cats vs. Winnipeg Blue Bombers

Sunday, November 24, 6 p.m. EST

Everyone and their mother is on the Ticats — Hamilton is the highly favoured public pick. The sharps see an opportunity for line value. The Bombers are a different team than the one which faced Hamilton during two regular season defeats. Zach Collaros and Chris Streveler have willed Winnipeg into the title match.

Many pundits seem to have forgotten the Bombers pressuring Bo Levi Mitchell into having his worst game as a pro and holding the Riders out of the end zone in the West Final. Recency bias should actually should actually be on Big Blue’s side, so we’ll take it.

Line: Ticats favoured by 3.5 points
Pick: Winnipeg
Bet: $30 spread bet returns $28.50
Over/under: 51 points
Bet: $33 under bet returns $30

Playoff record against the spread: 3-1
Playoff record on the money line: 2-0
