The Edmonton Eskimos have signed returner Jamill Smith according to the man himself.
Smith played in nine games for the Esks in 2017 and 2018. He spent the first three years of his career with the Ottawa Redblacks. Over 34 career CFL games, Smith has 144 punt returns for 1,199 yards (8.3 average) with a long of 36, 74 kick-off returns for 1,556 yards (21.2 average) 64 the longest and nine missed field goal returns for 278 yards, including a 109-yard touchdown.
Offensively, Smith has 21 catches for 267 yards and one touchdown while carrying the ball three times for 12 yards.
The 28-year-old Smith provides an option in the return game following the season-ending injury to Christion Jones.
