The Toronto Argonauts have placed receiver Derel Walker on the one-game injured list.
The 28-year-old has 65 catches for 1,040 yards and six touchdowns in 15 games despite a rotation of quarterbacks between James Franklin and McLeod Bethel-Thompson during the 2019 season.
Walker signed a lucrative one-year deal with the Argos in the range of $280,000 during free agency in February, which made him the highest paid non-quarterback in the league. According to 3DownNation insider Justin Dunk, for putting pen to paper Walker received $150,000, his base salary is $110,000 and each game active collects $1,111.11 in the form of a housing payment.
Toronto general manager Michael Clemons wants to build around Walker, which is why the double blue didn’t move him at the trade deadline.
Walker misses his first game of the season on Friday night against Montreal.
