Bloody tongue and all Logan Kilgore helped the Eskimos clinch a playoff spot.
Lions defensive lineman Odell Willis put a hellacious shot on Kilgore.
The hardest hit all year? Clean in initial contact, but not timing (why it was flagged). pic.twitter.com/bRhZQ3FzgM

“I saw Greg open up on the left side and tried to extend the play, Odell got me pretty good in the neck and snapped my head back and ended up biting through my tongue,” Kilgore told TSN after Edmonton’s 19-6 post-season clinching win.
“It’s a pretty good cut on my tongue, neck is a little sore, but everything hurts less when you’re in the playoffs. I told the guys no matter what I wasn’t coming off the field.”
Willis was penalized for roughing the passer on the play. It gave the Eskimos a first down extending a drive which led to a field goal. Kilgore completed 18-of-29 passes for 194 yards and one interception.
“No one hurt more than Logan, I can guarantee you that. Tough competitor,” head coach Jason Maas said.
“He took a lick. He has part of his tongue missing. Battling hard – he had a bloody mouth the whole game.”
