Jordan Williams-Lambert to make 2019 CFL debut for Riders against Bombers

Jordan Williams-Lambert will make his 2019 debut with the Riders on Saturday against Winnipeg.

“We’re going to dress Jordan this week. We had a plan all along that when we felt like he was ready we’d give him one more week and then dress him the next,” head coach Craig Dickenson said.

“We’re planning on playing him.”

The six-foot-three, 228-pound receiver practised with the starters on Tuesday. He signed an extension with Saskatchewan on September 10.

Williams-Lambert rejoined the Riders after being among the final training camp cuts with the Chicago Bears, but didn’t suit up in Week 14 when Saskatchewan beat Montreal or Week 16 in Toronto.

Last season, Williams-Lambert caught 62 passes for 764 yards and four touchdowns. The impressive campaign led to Williams-Lambert being named the West Division Most Outstanding Rookie.

The Riders put a physical, big bodied target on the field for quarterback Cody Fajardo.
