Tommie Campbell claims he failed to tackle Andrew Harris Saturday because he heard a whistle from the stands at Percival Molson Stadium.
???? ask the guy from Winnipeg bench who got kicked out the game for blowing a whistle at the beginning of the play. He would have never caught that ball. I was just showing him I had him covered. But long foul ball we on the game!!! https://t.co/euK5aJkWVG

Harris caught a 74-yard pass from Darvin Adams in the game between the Blue Bombers and Alouettes midway through the second quarter. Campbell appeared to quit on the play, choosing not to tackle Harris after he made the catch.
Our own Joey Alfieri reported that a fan was ejected from the stadium for blowing the whistle, which corroborates Campbell’s story.

The Alouettes trailed the game 34-10 late in the second quarter but mounted an impressive comeback, winning the game 38-37. Campbell is confident that his teammates still support him despite the error.
I appreciate my teammates for riding with me after that bull shit play. Huge win. One thing about me I’m not going in no tank ever. I’ll take it to a shootout win lose or draw.
