Jon Ryan put the boots to Derek Taylor’s CFL punter rankings.
Taylor, the Riders’ radio play-by-play man, tweeted out his list of the top ten punters in the league based on his excellent data-gathering.
Yep I’m the 9th best punter in the CFL. I wish you would commentate on what you see on the field and not on your personal stat book.

But Ryan feels Taylor needs to assess more with his eyes and less with his stat sheet. He leads the league with a 50.6 average, but averages just a 34.5 net yards per punt. The veteran has also booted for nine singles, the highest number in the CFL.
Former team play-by-play man Rod Pedersen provided his take on the situation. Pedersen called green and white games for 20 years on CKRM.

The 37-year-old inked a one-year deal worth approximately $100,000 including incentives. The Riders paid for a local star who has a proven pedigree as a punter on both sides of the border.
Let’s have a punt-off at Mosaic Stadium to determine the winner between Taylor and Ryan. Heck — let Pedersen join in, too.
