Ticats, Argo fined for role in Labour Day Classic skirmish

Two Ticats and one Argo were fined for a skirmish that broke out on Labour Day Monday.

Hamilton’s Nikola Kalinic and Tunde Adeleke are lighter in the wallet as is Toronto’s S.J. Green.

Adeleke and Frankie Williams were ejected less than 10 minutes into the contest. The former thrown out after making contact with an official an infraction for which he was charged the maximum fine – half a game check. While Williams was ejected for rough play.

The incident started when Argonauts running back James Wilder Jr. and Ticats linebacker Simoni Lawrence got tied up after the whistle. Neither player was penalized on the play.

Green was called for unnecessary roughness on the play, though he was permitted to stay in the game. Although the league followed up with a toll to pay for using his hands to deliver a blow to the head of Hamilton defensive lineman David Dean.

It was a wild Labour Day, a classic most will remember for the mini donnybrook and ferocious Ticats comeback.
