The B.C. Lions have found their scapegoat.
Offensive line coach Bryan Chiu was relieved of his duties on Saturday. His replacement is 44-year-old Kelly Bates, a retired offensive lineman who spent eight of ten CFL seasons with the Lions.
Bates has five years of CFL coaching experience, most recently as an offensive quality specialist with the Edmonton Eskimos.
The Lions have struggled on offence this season, allowing the most sacks in the league. B.C. has started ten different hogs this season in a litany of different combinations, none of which have been terribly effective.
The biggest area of concern is the centre position where four different players have started games this year alone.
