The Blue Bombers are flying high above everyone else in the CFL once again.
Following an unexpected two-game losing streak to the Ticats and Argos, Winnipeg won the West Division showdown against Calgary to reclaim the No. 1 spot in the 3DownNation power rankings. It was a narrow victory without Bo Levi Mitchell in the lineup for the Stampeders, but enough to satisfy our rankers for now.
The power rankings are done by having 3Down contributors rank each team from No. 1 to No. 9. The team with the fewest “points” gets the top ranking with each subsequent club receiving rankings two through nine. The previous week’s rankings are listed in brackets.
- Winnipeg Blue Bombers (3)
The combination of leaving Ontario and being back at home seemed to bode well for the Bombers.
2. Calgary Stampeders (1)
Everyone is waiting on Bo Levi to be back.
3. Hamilton Tiger-Cats (5)
There is no stopping Speedy B. Brandon Banks has been making it look like easy money for Hamilton.
4. Saskatchewan Roughriders (3)
Craig Dickenson has the Riders rounding into contenders.
5. Edmonton Eskimos (2)
C.J. Gable changes the entire look of Edmonton’s offence. Resting Gable against Toronto was smart for the long run.
6. Montreal Alouettes (6)
No VA, no way. The Alouettes need Vernon Adams Jr. at quarterback.
7. Ottawa Redblacks (6)
Oh so close in Edmonton. Still, Ottawa is hanging around.
8. Toronto Argonauts (8)
McLeod Bethel-Thompson is looking to keep the Argos starting QB job. What does he do for an encore after the comeback win against Winnipeg?
9. B.C. Lions (9)
B.C. and Mike Reilly are in a world of hurt, but there’s still time for a turnaround.
