Edmonton will not have their No. 1 running back for Thursday’s game against Toronto.
C.J. Gable has been placed on the one-game injured list. Gable sits second in the CFL with 448 rushing yards on 87 carries (5.1 yards-per-carry average).
The 31-year-old played 16 games for Edmonton in 2018 producing 1,063 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground while catching 32 balls for 212 yards and one major.
Second year back Shaq Cooper draws in to the lineup making his first appearance since last September. The 26-year-old playmaker recorded 25 carries for 144 yards and six grab for 44 yards and one touchdown in two games a year ago.
The Argos are winless so far at 0-5 and teams have elected to rest some regulars when playing the double blue. That could be the case for Gable, use the free space on the bingo card to give a veteran back a chance to recharge.
