The Saskatchewan Roughriders released Butler among their final training camp cuts in 2019. Butler originally signed with the Riders in 2017 and played in 26 games over two seasons making 70 tackles, two sacks and forcing one fumble. He spent a quick minute with the Toronto Argos prior to being let go.
The 32-year-old Clemson University product was selected in the fifth round, 164th overall by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2010 NFL draft. Butler played for the Steelers, Arizona Cardinals, Washington Redskins, Buffalo Bills, San Diego Chargers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Detroit Lions and Seattle Seahawks. He made 27 tackles and two forced fumbles in 46 games.
B.C. adds a veteran presence to the secondary.
