Everybody and their crew are on two heavy home sides.

Calgary and Winnipeg are double digit favourites in Week 6 of the CFL slate. The only host team getting points are the Alouettes, even though Montreal has managed two straight wins. Saskatchewan comes back from the bye as more than field goal favourites at Mosaic Stadium.

Let’s get to the goods.

Toronto Argonauts at Calgary Stampeders
Thursday, July 18, 9 p.m. EST

The Stampeders have been up and down – loss, win, win, loss – and are smarting after a victory was stolen by Brandon Banks in Hamilton. Dave Dickenson’s group was by far the better team for 45 minutes against the Ticats, but the final 15 did them in. Even though Toronto is winless at 0-4, Calgary cannot afford to look past the boatmen.

Line: Stampeders favoured by 12 points
Pick: Calgary
Bet: $22 spread bet returns $20

Ottawa Redblacks at Winnipeg Blue Bombers
Friday, July 19, 8:30 p.m. EST

The Bombers blew away the Argos 48-21 a week ago, it was 31-0 during the second quarter. Short work was made of that East opponent and Ottawa enters IG Field having lost two in a row with a new starting quarterback, Jonathon Jennings, lacking any rhythm on offence. Winnipeg is workmanlike in it’s approach through all three phases, sustainable success.

Line: Bombers favoured by 10.5 points
Pick: Winnipeg
Bet: $22 spread bet returns $20

Edmonton Eskimos at Montreal Alouettes
Saturday, July 20, 4 p.m. EST

Underestimating Edmonton has cost us to begin the season.

Both the Eskimos lines have been strong. The big boys on offence are protecting Trevor Harris – league-low one sack allowed. Pressure has been applied to the opposing quarterback led by Almondo Sewell pushing the pocket from the inside.

Percival Molson Stadium will be rocking, Montreal is currently rolling and the new owners are going to be in the building. Khari Jones and company want to put on a show. Vernon Adams made the score respectable against the Eskimos in Week 1. The dual-threat QB is feeling it lately.

Line: Eskimos favoured by 4.5 points
Pick: Montreal
Bet: $22 spread bet returns $20

B.C. Lions at Saskatchewan Roughriders
Saturday, July 20, 7 p.m. EST

Bang up Mike Reilly meets a rested and ready Riders squad which has a defensive line that’s among the league’s best.

That’s an ugly recipe waiting to happen. No matter who has lined up along the offensive line for B.C. in their orange jerseys especially the group has resembled traffic pylons more than road graders. Until the Lions show some bite up front and can protect Reilly don’t trust them with your hard earned cash.

Line: Riders favoured by 4.5 points
Pick: Saskatchewan
Bet: $22 spread bet returns $20

Season record against the spread: 5-9
