The Winnipeg Blue Bombers had some big names watching practice on Tuesday with one returning to the field.

Star linebacker Adam Bighill missed Winnipeg’s last two games – both wins – against Ottawa and Toronto. The Argos are the worst team in the league and resting Bighill versus a weaker opponent was prudent.

First-year CFL sensation Lucky Whitehead returned the opening kick-off against Toronto for a touchdown, which started the route in The Peg. Through four games, Whitehead has 15 catches for 212 yards and two touchdowns.

Chris Matthews had his fingers taped at practice last week. The 29-year-old played in his first game of the 2019 season during Week 3 game against the Edmonton Eskimos recording two catches for 16 yards – there was a long play wiped out by penalty. Prior to leaving the contest against the Redblacks in Week 4, Matthews had one grab for 10 yards.

Veteran receiver Darvin Adams, defensive back Jeff Hecht, defensive end Craig Roh and offensive lineman Jermarcus Hardrick are worth paying attention to as well. Lots of names to keep an eye on as the week progresses in Winnipeg as the Bombers prepare to face Ottawa Friday night.
