The franchise is in the Arena Football League – the Albany Empire.
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers released Leggett last November. During 2018 – after recovering from a torn Achilles – he played in nine games making 33 tackles and recording one sack.
The 32-year-old had an excellent season in 2017, recording 50 tackles, three sacks, three forced fumbles, three interceptions, one of which he took back for a touchdown, and a 97-yard punt return touchdown in 13 games. It was cut short when he suffered that Achilles injury on October 14.
In five seasons with Winnipeg, Leggett recorded 253 defensive tackles,16 interceptions, 12 sacks, six forced fumbles, four defensive touchdowns and two special teams touchdowns in 72 career games. Leggett finished tied for the league lead in interceptions in 2016 with seven.
Leggett originally signed with the Bombers in 2014 after three seasons in the NFL with Kansas City recording 54 tackles, 12 pass breakups and one interception in 22 games.
Following two seasons out of football, Leggett played for the Utah Blaze (2013) and Philadelphia Soul (2014) in the Arena Football League.
