The Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Calgary Stampeders announced a trade early this afternoon.
The Stamps have acquired international defensive end Patrick Choudja, a 23-year-old rookie from Winnipeg’s practice roster. The six-foot-four, 256-pound pass rusher had a cup of coffee with the San Fransisco 49ers after completing his NCAA eligibility at Nevada.
In return, the Bombers acquired the rights to a player on Calgary’s negotiations list. The name of the player was not disclosed.
The Stampeders have experienced a number of injuries along the defensive line the season. Projected starter Folarin Orimolade is on the six-game injured list and Ivan McLennan left Saturday’s game versus B.C. due to injury.
