The plans for Hamilton’s Grey Cup in 2021 appear to be spectacular.
The Ticats unveiled what the stadium and events in and around Grey Cup will look like on Thursday.
In total, Tim Hortons Field will expand from the regular capacity of 23,218 to more than 33,000 for the CFL championship game. There is going to be a Grey Cup Social combining music and food located in the South Plaza, just outside the stadium.
“We’re fortunate enough to have a venue like Tim Hortons Field that allows us the opportunity to be innovative and creative,” Ticats’ C.E.O. Scott Mitchell said in a statement.
“We’re focused on delivering a stadium experience for Hamiltonians and football fans from across the country that they’ve never seen at a Grey Cup game before.”
The grub is set to have a Hamilton flavour but also tastes inspired by CFL cities across the country and live entertainment will begin in the afternoon.
The highlight might be a Grey Cup party deck, appropriately named for the grand national drunk.
