The Calgary Stampeders have signed former NFL defensive lineman Jonathan Massaquoi.

Massaquoi was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the fifth round, 164th overall during the 2012 NFL draft. He played 39 games for the Falcons from 2012-2014, recording 70 tackles, six sacks and two pass knockdowns. The 31-year-old spent time on the Tennessee Titans (2015) and Kansas City Chiefs (2016) practice rosters. After being completely out of pro football for two seasons (2017 and 2018), Massaquoi played for the Alliance of American Football’s Birmingham Iron.

Massaquoi played collegiately at Troy University and was named first-team all-Sun Belt Conference both years suiting up for the Trojans. In 25 games for with Troy, Massaquoi made 128 tackles including 31 tackles for loss, 19.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and three pass breakups. He transferred to Troy from Butler County Community College in El Dorado, Kan.
