Sinkfield ended the 2018 CFL season with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats as a receiver, but that came after trying to make it in the NFL as a defensive back for two seasons (2017 and 2018).
Sinkfield has played 36 games during parts of four CFL seasons, making 108 catches for 1,592 yards and 10 touchdowns while adding 44 carries for 296 yards. His best season came in 2015 with Hamilton when he played in 15 games and made 69 catches for 1,030 yards and six touchdowns.
Sinkfield ran a 4.19 40-yard time at his pro day, but the 28-year-old went unselected in the 2013 NFL draft coming out of the University of Northern Iowa. Sinkfield spent time with the Miami Dolphins, Green Bay Packers, Buffalo Bills, New York Giants, Minnesota Vikings, New York Jets and Oakland Raiders. He spent the entire 2017 season on the Jets practice roster, but has never played in an NFL game.
There were CFL teams interested in Sinkfield, so let’s see if a contract comes to fruition after trying the AAF.
