Alouettes sign receiver Ernest Jackson to contract extension

The Montreal Alouettes have signed receiver Ernest Jackson to a one-year contract extension through the 2019 season.

Jackson originally inked a two-year agreement during free agency in February 2017 to join the Alouettes. Over two seasons in Montreal, Jackson has caught 112 passes for 1,409 yards and seven touchdowns.

The 32-year-old caught the game-winning touchdown during overtime for Ottawa in the 104th Grey Cup. Jackson made 88 receptions for 1,225 yards and 10 touchdowns on his way to being named a 2016 CFL all-star. The six-foot-two, 220-pound receiver put up two straight 1,000-yard seasons with the Redblacks after signing as a free agent in 2015. He spent the first three years of his CFL career in B.C.
