Riders trade Canadian fullback Spencer Moore to Alouettes

The Montreal Alouettes have acquired Canadian fullback Spencer Moore from the Saskatchewan Roughriders for a conditional selection in the 2020 CFL Draft.

Moore has played six seasons and 81 regular-season games with the Riders after being selected in the 5th round (44th overall) of the 2013 CFL Draft. He has registered 41 special teams tackles, while making 27 catches for 227 yards during his career.

The 28-year-old Hamilton native won a Grey Cup in 2013 with the Riders as well as the Vanier Cup in 2011 with the McMaster Marauders.

“Spencer is a savvy player who will help both our offence and our special teams,” said Alouettes’ general manager Kavis Reed said in a statement. “His size and ability to get open will help our offence better protect our quarterback while being a viable option for the latter.”

Moore is under contract for 2019 season.
