Riders extend Canadian receiver Patrick Lavoie

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed national receiver Patrick Lavoie to a two-year contract extension through the 2020 season.

Lavoie was acquired along with national offensive lineman Philip Blake from the Montreal Alouettes at the trade deadline on October 10 in exchange for non-import receiver Josh Stanford and the Riders second-round pick in the 2020 CFL Draft.

The 31-year-old played in three games making 10 catches for 79 yards with Saskatchewan in 2018.

Lavoie was originally selected by the Alouettes in the second round of the 2012 CFL Draft and has 148 receptions for 1,343 yards and seven touchdowns in 118 career regular-season games with Montreal, Ottawa and Saskatchewan.
