Highly regarded Canadian receiver Dejon Brisett draft year bumped to 2020 due to injury

Canadian receiver Dejon Brissett won’t be available to CFL or NFL teams until after the 2019 NCAA season.

Brissett suffered a broken ankle in September and since has been granted a medical redshirt which will allow the Mississauga native to play as a fifth-year senior next season. Through three games, Brissett made 19 receptions for 299 yards leading the University of Richmond Spiders at the time of his setback. The six-foot-two, 180-pound pass catcher had 63 grabs for 896 yards with seven touchdowns in 11 games during the 2017 season.

Brissett was one of the best receivers available in the 2018 CFL Draft, ranked sixth on the CFL scouting bureau list in the fall. But the Brissett, the long and fast target, will have to rehab and wait until 2020 to hear his name called.
