Receiver Kenny Shaw draws into the Saskatchewan Roughriders lineup in Montreal.
Shaw who caught 77 passes for 1,004 yards and five touchdowns in 2016 for the Toronto Argonauts was signed by the Riders in August.
“Kenny is a veteran of the league. He’s been a guy that’s had 1,000 yards before and he was a very good college player at Florida State. He’s fit into our locker room. He comes and he works every day. He’s in there with his receiver coach every afternoon until probably 4:30. Football matters to him. Look forward to seeing what he brings,” Jones said.
It’s the first time Shaw will play a game since August 2017 more than a year ago. The 26-year-old signed a two-year contract with the Redblacks in February 2017, but after playing three games making six catches for 66 yards Shaw tore his ACL, ending his season in 2017.
“The final test is going out and making it through a full pro football game,” Jones said “If practice is any indicator he’s done a real good job competing.”
