B.C. Lions and Hamilton Tiger-Cats players traded barbs and jabs out front of Tim Hortons Field after the game on Saturday night.
Emotions were still running high from the Ticats 40-10 beatdown of B.C.
According to sources, Simoni Lawrence was trash talking Lions receiver Shaq Johnson and that led to a physical altercation involving several members of each team.
Players from both teams generally leave the stadium the same way via gate three where the visitors’ buses are normally set up for boarding on Melrose Avenue. That’s where the altercation took place.
The day before the two squads played the back end of a home-and-home series, Lions fullback David Mackie performed a dance on the Ticat logo at centre field. A number of Ticats took exception to it including Lawrence and receiver Brandon Banks who were vocal during and after the game.
