Former Riders LB Jeff Knox Jr. signing with Argos

Former Saskatchewan Roughriders linebacker Jeff Knox Jr. is on the verge of signing with the Toronto Argonauts.

Knox was let go by the Tennessee Titans at the end of training camp.

He was waived by the Washington Redskins and released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as well. The Riders released Knox Jr. in January – he was a pending CFL free agent – to pursue those NFL opportunities.

Saskatchewan brought Knox Jr. back into the fold after the 26-year-old was among the final cuts after the Bucs completed training camp in 2017. He was released by Chris Jones and the Riders that January to sign with Tampa Bay.

Knox Jr. played in eight games for the Riders making 23 tackles, seven special teams tackles and one sack last season. Prior to that, he played two seasons with Saskatchewan making 177 tackles, 29 special teams tackles, one sack and one interception in 35 games. He was named a CFL West All-Star after his rookie CFL season in 2015.
