The Edmonton Eskimos have signed veteran Canadian defensive lineman Arnaud Gascon-Nadon.
Unsigned after hitting the free agent market in February, he’ll provide some insurance behind Canadian Kawku Boateng – who has five sacks so far in a breakout season – while helping out on special teams.
The 30-year-old has played five CFL season since being drafted 17th overall by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2012. He played three seasons with the Ticats, largely as a back up on defence and on special teams – he had 11 tackles on kick coverage in 2015 – before signing with the Redblacks.
In two season with the Redblacks, Gascon-Nadon started 20 games, including 11 last season. For his career, he has 65 games played (20 starts), 28 tackles and nine sacks.
