The two players acquired by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the deal that sent Johnny Manziel to the Montreal Alouettes are on the field for Tuesday practice at Tim Hortons Field.
Canadian defensive end Jamaal Westerman is wearing No. 55 while American receiver Chris Williams – who wore No. 80 in his last stint as a Ticat – is sporting Manziel’s old No. 2. Should make for some easy jersey conversions over at a Ticat store (or at home with masking tape and magic marker.)
Williams has been hampered with a hamstring injury that forced him to miss Montreal’s last game but he’s running individual drills in the early going and seems fine.
There are still only two quarterbacks however….
• receiver Luke Tasker does not appear to be on the field today after missing yesterday. Running back Alex Green, who has been on the six-game injured list, is practicing and is defensive end Adrian Tracy.
• both Westerman and Williams got some time with the first units during the periods, an indication they could be in the line up on Saturday.
• American Avery Jordan and Canadian Kay Okafor both got reps at left tackle during the team period. Looks like Mathieu Girard will be national coming on the roster to replace the departed Landon Rice.
Meanwhile in Ottawa…
Assuming it's just a rest day, but QB Trevor Harris not taking first-team reps in practice for #Redblacks – it's Dominique Davis. Receiver Austen Hartley is also on first team, replacing Noel Thomas Jr. And, Antoine Pruneau not out there, Justin Howell is in. #CFL
