Rick Campbell made Trevor Harris rest at Redblacks practice

Backup quarterback Dominique Davis took a number of first-team reps at Redblacks practice Tuesday.

That led to speculation that starter Trevor Harris might be questionable for Saturday’s game against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

Ottawa head coach Rick Campbell quickly put the questions to rest.

“I’m the one who made Trevor take less reps, he’s doing fine,” Campbell said. “You’ll see guys from time-to-time take less reps, especially as the season wears on, but Trevor is good to go.”

Harris completed 30-of-44 passes for 363 yards and one touchdown in a bounce-back performance in the win over B.C. in Week 6. The 32-year-old was pulled twice in the Redblacks loss to Calgary in Week 5.

Harris has thrown for 1,278 yards, six touchdowns and four interceptions in five games so far this season guiding Ottawa to a 3-2 record.
