Lions’ Buono warns Bombers’ Nichols to be careful what he says about opponents

B.C. Lions head coach Wally Buono has a message for Winnipeg Blue Bombers quarterback Matt Nichols.

“If I was Matt Nichols I would be careful about what I said about the opponent,” Buono said on 3Down Radio.

Nichols stated he didn’t get hit at all during the Bombers 41-19 victory against the Lions in Week 4. The veteran pivot completed 16-of-29 passes for 162 yards and one touchdown in the win in his 2018 regular-season debut without being sacked or even contacted after recovering from a knee injury suffered in training camp practice.

Winnipeg visits B.C. Place for the backend of a home-and-home set with the Lions on Saturday night.
