The injuries have already started to hit the Edmonton Eskimos, again.
Canadian linebacker Adam Konar, offensive lineman Tommie Draheim, defensive lineman Mike Moore and returner Jamill Smith have been put on the six-game injured list.
All four players started against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the Eskimos 33-30 victory: Konar at weakside linebacker, Draheim left tackle, Moore defensive tackle and Smith was the primary returner.
Konar had a breakout season in 2017 making 59 tackles, two interceptions, one sack and forced one fumble in 12 games missing six games due to injury. That’s the most impactful loss as Edmonton re-signed the 24-year-old in February and view him as a ratio-breaking linebacker.
Christophe Mulumba-Tshimanga filled in for Konar last season and showed he’s capable to produce at the linebacker spot. General manager Brock Sunderland signed offensive linemen Travis Bond and Kevin Palmer to help fill the void left by Draheim and the same for bringing in former Riders defensive lineman Rakim Cox who was brought in Monday as well.
