Duron Carter spends entire Riders practice playing defence

Saskatchewan Roughrider Duron Carter spent all of Wednesday’s training camp session at defensive back.

Carter, who was the team’s leading receiver last season with 1,043 yards, has been touted by head coach Chris Jones as a leading option for the boundary corner spot. Carter played one game at defensive back last season versus Calgary and had an interception return for a touchdown after backing up his trash talk with Stamps quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell.

Carter wore a numberless green practice jersey – the offence is in white – initially confusing some members of the media.

Carter certainly has the physical skills to play defensive back and Jones said he planned to keep Carter busy during training camp by working him on both sides of the ball. And it would be kinda fun to see him go up against some of the other elite quarterbacks and receivers in the CFL…. and Carter certainly has some goals.
