Riders release receiver T.J. Thorpe, six others

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have released receiver T.J. Thorpe and six other players as the fallout from this week’s mini-camp continues.

Thorpe played six games for Winnipeg last season but asked for his release from the practice roster and was subsequently signed by Saskatchewan. He did not play in a game for the Riders.

Overall, Thorpe made 33 catches for 302 yards with the Bombers in 2017.

The other players released were:

International running back Wes Brown
International running back Christian Ellison
National defensive back Tristan MacDonald-Doughlin
International running back I’Tavius Mathers
International wide receiver Teldrick Morgan
International wide receiver Demond Powell

With the releases, the Riders are down to 77 players and must be at league-mandated 75-man roster limit by April 30.
