Despite slippery conditions, Peterman blazes fastest 40 at combine

McMaster Marauders receiver Daniel Peterman went so fast the CFL live stream missed him.

Peterman ran 4.63 on his first 40-yard dash.

Then took the line for his second and put down 4.54 which was the fastest at the event. Scouts will still be able to watch his performance on the coaches’ tape available to all teams.

Peterman was one of 3DownNation’s Justin Dunk’s favourites to win the 40-yard event.

The fresh turf laid down at the RBC Convention Centre was concerning to Peterman and other prospects.

“I think it’s slippery. So, when people are exploding off the start it’s a little slippery and they’re stumbling a little bit. Other than that, once you start to open up it’s fine,” Peterman said.

“For the 40 I just kept the cleats on. Just sucked it up, I didn’t feel comfortable running in (running shoes). I could have done a little bit better but given the circumstances of the field and stuff, I’m happy with my results.”
