Winnipeg Blue Bomber offensive coordinator Paul LaPolice has an interesting take on the St. Patrick’s Day colour scheme.
According to LaPo, the Irish day of celebration and binge drinking has a history dipped in blue.

According to the article, there as much reason to wear blue on Mar. 17 as there is to wear green.
After all, the earliest depictions of St. Patrick show him clothed in blue garments, not green, and that when George III created a new order of chivalry for the Kingdom of Ireland, the Order of St. Patrick, its official color was a sky blue, known as “St. Patrick’s Blue.”
LaPolice also spent time coaching with a team more closely associated with green and whose fan base may take exception to his assertion that blue is the colour of St.Patrick’ Day.
