Canadian DL Nathan Shepherd attracts 16 NFL teams to Fort Hays State pro day

Half of the NFL was represented at Canadian defensive lineman Nathan Shepherd’s pro day in Hays, Kansas.

The town has a population of just over 21,000.

16 teams made the trip to Fort Hays State and watched Shepherd perform football drills, including defensive line coaches from the Eagles, Jets and Bengals according to Tony Pauline.

He elected, smartly, to stand on his NFL combine numbers. Shepherd checked in at six-foot-five, 315 pounds, ran a 5.09 40-yard dash, 4.53 shuttle, broad jumped nine feet, three inches and recorded a 31 inch vertical. The Canadian defensive lineman from Ajax, Ontario was the lone Canuck at the NFL Combine this year and he put on an impressive performance.

Shepherd has 11 visits already lined up with NFL teams.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats own his negotiation list rights.
