The Winnipeg Football Club and recently-signed receiver Adarius Bowman have gone above and beyond to turn a frown upside down.
From tears to excitement. Thanks @AdariusBowman & the @Wpg_BlueBombers for making it a special birthday. I hear we need to come to the Peg when our #Esks play. @CFL @ChantelleKay3 #CFL pic.twitter.com/OB6hu6RnHh

Olivia, a young fan from Edmonton, was devastated when the Eskimos unceremoniously cut Bowman earlier this month to avoid paying an off-season roster bonus.
On Sunday, Bowman appeared at Olivia’s birthday party where he surprised her with a jersey, signed hat, and teddy bear courtesy of the team.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY OLIVIA!!! #1fan https://t.co/ItNJfJdddT

It was a nice gesture from a team that has recently demonstrated an understanding of how much such acts can mean to the CFL community. Perhaps the Eskimos — who announced Bowman’s release with a mere sentence in an otherwise-unrelated press release — could look to follow suit.
