Redblacks grab former Argos Canadian DL Daryl Waud

Ottawa has agreed to terms on a one-year deal for the 2018 season with national defensive lineman Daryl Waud, per sources.

Waud spent three seasons with the Argos playing in 25 games making 19 tackles and three sacks, but he was limited to just one game in 2017.

The 24-year-old was drafted by Toronto in the second round, 12th overall of the 2015 CFL draft. When Waud was coming out of Western University as a three-time USports All-Canadian, he signed a contract with the Washington Redskins, however, elected to voluntarily leave the team and sign with the Argonauts.

If Waud can stay healthy he should help fill the void left by Zach Evans who returned to Saskatchewan and left Ottawa in free agency.
