When Adarius Bowman was released by the Eskimos on Monday – via a one-line add-on to a press release about the re-signing of another player – there was an outpouring of thanks from Edmonton fans who expressed their appreciation for what Bowman did both on and off the field during his seven years in the green and gold.
But nobody took it harder than Olivia, the daughter of Eskimos fan Mark Kay. Check out this video Mark posted on Twitter and prepare to be sad.

It’s sometimes hard to remember that when we encourage kids to idolize athletes, they sometimes get attached and that can lead to genuine feelings of loss when players are traded or released. To his credit, Bowman did his best to make the whole terrible situation just a little bit easier for Olivia.
I'm so grateful to have you as my #1 FAN Olivia, nothing can change the memories we had. Keep being great in school and grow up to be the BEST you.
