Eagles use Bombers’ trick play to score TD in Super Bowl

The Philadelphia Eagles scored a touchdown shortly before halftime in Super Bowl LII that look awfully familiar to fans north of the border.

Here’s the Winnipeg touchdown that took place late in the 2016 season. The pass, thrown by receiver Rory Kohlert, was caught by Blue Bomber quarterback Matt Nichols for six points.

Here’s the Eagles’ touchdown.

Bombers offensive coordinator Paul LaPolice certainly noticed the similarity…

As did quarterback Matt Nichols….

Two virtually identical touchdowns — one of which took place on the world’s biggest stage. With all due respect to the Eagles, let’s remember which touchdown came first… though LaPo admits to having inspiration as well.
