Ticats re-sign defensive back Demond Washington

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats re-signed American defensive back Demond Washington on Friday.

3DownNation insider Justin Dunk reported the extension on Tuesday.

Washington started seven games for Hamilton last season, registering 32 tackles, one sack and a forced fumble. The five-foot-nine, 178-pound Washington also returned one punt for nine yards and four kickoffs for 72 yards.

The 30-year-old was fined for spitting on Riders offensive lineman Derek Dennis in a game last September.

Washington has played 74 career games with Hamilton and Winnipeg (2012-15), recording 268 tackles, six sacks, six interceptions, seven forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries. He has also returned 79 punts for 795 yards with three TDs and 88 kickoffs for 1,765 yards and a touchdown.
