Andrew Harris wants fellow Winnipeg native Kienan LaFrance to come home

The reigning Most Outstanding Canadian is recruiting Kienan LaFrance via Twitter.

Andrew Harris wants Kienan LaFrance, who was released by the Riders on January 31, to join him in the backfield – Harris and LaFrance are both Winnipeg natives. The 30-year-old wants to bring the younger Canadian runner home and it seems LaFrance is open to it.

Harris rushed for 1,035 yards and recorded 857 receiving yards on a CFL-high 294 offensive touches. If the Bombers wanted to spell Harris in 2018 and beyond LaFrance could be an intriguing option.

The University of Manitoba product posted a strong post-season in 2016 when Ottawa won the Grey Cup, amassing 199 rushing yards and one touchdown on 36 carries while adding six grabs for 31 yards during the Redblacks’ championship run. LaFrance followed that up playing in 13 games for the Riders carrying the ball 68 times for 273 yards and two touchdowns adding 14 catches for 123 yards and one major in 2017.

An all-Winnipeg backfield tandem in Bombers colours would be fun.
