Johnny Manziel’s contract demands have Riders offensive lineman Derek Dennis – and likely others around the league – laughing.
Johnny Manziel got every CFL player looking at his agent statement like… you gotta at least Play in a Grey Cup for that kind of QB cash ???????????????? pic.twitter.com/0PSSxHDmjg

Fellow Saskatchewan offensive lineman Josiah St. John feels the team that signs the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner could get a return on their investment but Dennis delivered more real talk about the CFL.
No they won’t and even if so as a player in this league who had to earn his stripes it upsets me that dudes think they gon come up here like it’s finna be a breeze…he gon put a bigger target on his back pic.twitter.com/91iQPw0NxI

Dennis spent two years on a rookie contract in the CFL, winning the league’s Most Outstanding Lineman award in the final year of that deal. He hit every single possible bonus and made $71,500 in 2016. Saskatchewan made him one of the highest paid American offensive lineman in the league, signing Dennis as a free agent in 2017. So he knows what it’s like to “earn his stripes” in Canada.
