There are no roster games at play: rookie Canadian Tunde Adeleke will start at strong-side linebacker for Calgary in the West Final.
Adeleke has started at safety for Calgary in his first year while returning too, he’s taken two punts back for touchdowns. But it will be the first time the Carleton University product starts at SAM in his pro or university career.
The move is part of a rejigging of the Stampeders’ back end. Shaquille Richardson moves from strong-side linebacker to field halfback and rookie Patrick Levels gets the nod at boundary cornerback in place of 2017 West all-star Ciante Evans. That presents a different look for Eskimos quarterback Mike Reilly.
Adeleke, drafted in the third round, 25th overall in the 2017 CFL draft by Calgary, makes his CFL debut at strong-side ‘backer, rare and special for a Canadian.
