CFL says it isn’t investigating fight at Riders practice

The CFL will not be investigating the fight between Saskatchewan Roughriders receiver Duron Carter and defensive back Sam Williams at Monday’s practice.

Multiple reports say the two players were encouraged to fight by as-of-yet-unnamed Riders’ coach.

“The league has consulted with the club and is satisfied it has been dealt with internally. No further action is planned at this time,” the league said in a statement.

Saskatchewan head coach Chris Jones said Wednesday that Carter will play both offence and defence on Friday against the Calgary Stampeders.
