Canadian playmakers shone over the weekend, so we’re going to give them the shine they deserve.
1. Jerome Messam, running back, Calgary Stampeders
Consider that Messam took that nasty hit from Micah Awe just one week earlier and the stat line he put up, 23 carries for 127 yards, at Mosaic Stadium was all that more impressive. He pounded away at the Riders defence and provided a real difference in the victory.

2. Andrew Harris, running back, Winnipeg Blue Bombers
Winnipeg’s dynamic back burst through the middle for a 24-yard touchdown that widened the Bombers’ advantage. You can all but mark Harris down for at least 100 total yards each game out in 2017. He had 132 total yards (83 rushing and 49 receiving) last week.
3. Brandon Bridge, quarterback, Saskatchewan Roughriders
After Saskatchewan’s offence had been shutout for three quarters, Bridge entered the game in the fourth and on his second drive led a touchdown march. Then he brought them down the field before fumbling on the potential game-altering possession. When called upon Bridge has produced – 6-of-7 for 91 yards and one touchdown in one quarter Sunday – even in tough spots such as being down against the league’s No. 1 defence.
