Slam Dunk picks: Heavy favourites

Every line in Week 14 features a favourite of around a touchdown or more.

Three home teams have major spreads to cover.

Ottawa Redblacks (5-7-1) at Winnipeg Blue Bombers (8-3)

Friday, September 22, 8 p.m. EST

Winnipeg comes off a bye week to host an Ottawa team starting Ryan Lindley, the first of his CFL career. The Bombers ball-hawking secondary is tied for the league lead with 16 interceptions. Fresh legs for those pass defenders should ensure the turnover category turns out in favour of the home side.

Line: Bombers favoured by 7 points

Pick: Winnipeg

Bet: $22 returns $20

Hamilton Tiger-Cats (2-9) at B.C. Lions (6-6)

Friday, September 22, 11 p.m. EST

B.C. can’t afford to let Saskatchewan finish in front of them because the Riders own the tiebreaker, which makes it crucial that the Lions earn a victory over the worst team in the CFL record-wise.

That said, laying 12.5 points with B.C. is simply too much.

Line: Lions favoured by 12.5 points

Pick: Hamilton

Bet: $11 returns $10

Montreal Alouettes (3-9) at Toronto Argonauts (5-7)

Saturday, September 23, 7 p.m. EST

This feels like a Bear (trap) Woods game. Toronto coming off an impressive victory against Edmonton while Montreal looked terrible in a disheartening defeat to Ottawa. Combine those results and that gives us the seven-point difference.

Defences should be the focus. Losing (inexplicably firing) hurts the Alouettes. Meanwhile, Corey Chamblin has built a strong Argos unit. When Victor Butler has been on the field – seven sacks in six games has him just one shy of the league lead.

Line: Argos favoured by 7 points

Pick: Toronto

Bet: $22 returns $20

Bonus: three-team, six-point teaser

Picks: Winnipeg, Hamilton and Toronto

Bet: $10 returns $18

Season record against the spread: 23-18-2

Money line: 6-3

Teasers: 2-5

Parlays: 1-3

Bankroll: $192 from $100 starting budget
