Canadian defensive lineman Connor McGough has signed with the Ticats after Hamilton selected him fourth overall in the 2017 CFL draft, per sources.
Tiger-Cats sources feel the 21-year-old will make an impact early in his pro career. He could team up with fellow Canuck Justin Capicciotti to form a national option at defensive end for Hamilton.
From 2013-16, the 21-year-old played in 26 games for the University of Calgary Dinos making 67 total tackles, 17 tackles for loss and nine sacks. McGough, who checks in at six-foot-two, 251-pounds, was “the best guy on our board” according to vice president of football operations, Kent Austin.
