Argonauts head coach Marc Trestman has finalized his coaching staff.
Tyron Brackenridge, a two-time CFL all-star and 2013 Grey Cup champion with the Riders, might be the most intriguing name amongst the new double blue coaches. He’s been named the assistant defensive backs coach, joining forces with his one-time head coach in Saskatchewan, Corey Chamblin, who is Toronto’s assistant head coach, defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach.
Mike Archer (linebackers), Kerry Locklin (defensive line), Gavin Lake (defensive quality control) round out the Argos’ defensive staff.
Former Argo linebacker Kevin Eiben has been handed special teams coordinator duties and Wendell Avery assistant special teams coach.
Meanwhile, Trestman added Mitch Browning (offensive line), Tommy Condell (receivers), Josh Moore (running backs), and Steve Walsh (senior assistant coach) to the offensive coaches with Marcus Brady as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
“I am excited about our 2017 staff. These are men of high character as well as great teachers in the science of football,” said Trestman. “Our players will enjoy being coached and mentored by them during the upcoming season. Now that we have our entire staff assembled, I look forward to building our three phases of football.”
