National running back/receiver re-ups in Toronto

Canadian running back/receiver Anthony Coombs has signed a two-year extension with the Argos, per sources.

Toronto traded up to select the Manitoba Bisons product third overall in the 2014 CFL draft. Since being picked by the double blue, Coombs has played in 41 games carrying the ball 29 times for 159 yards and one touchdown while adding 115 receptions for 997 yards and two touchdowns. He’s handled return duties too with 16 kick-off returns for 296 yards (40 long), one missed field goal for 15 yards and one punt for nine yards.

2016 saw Coombs play in all 18 Argos games on the schedule. He had 12 rushing attempts for 45 yards and one touchdown to go with 36 catches for 297 yards and one touchdown.
